Jennifer Naughton, P.T., D.P.T., Doctor of Physical Therapy Jen graduated from Binghamton University in up-state NY with a BS in Human Development and Social Psychology where she played soccer and basketball. During this time she was invited to play for the United States Olympic Development soccer program in which she was honored to play and train with members of the olympic team. Though falling short of wearing her own jersey in the olympics she developed an extreme passion for the human body and performance. Rehabilitation of her own injuries led her to study anatomy and biomechanics while still in college and pursuing massage therapy post-graduate. In 2002 Jen graduated from the Florida School of Massage with a certification in Massage Therapy as well as Advanced Sports and Orthopedic Massage. She then practiced and mentored in a multi-disciplinary fashion with physical therapists, chiropractors, myofacial and craniosacral practitioners as well as athletic trainers for the past 10 years. While working in Ann Arbor Michigan at a physical therapy clinic and with the University of Michigan men's basketball team she came to the conclusion that becoming a physical therapist was the next step in advancing her career in bodywork. She chose the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy for their commitment to orthopedic manual therapy and graduated in 2009. She feels that the combination of physical rehabilitation with manual therapy and massage make the perfect symbiosis for healing. Jen's therapy revolves around making simple yet personal changes that revolve around personal awareness combined with strength, flexibility and balance. Her personal interests in soccer, basketball, yoga, mountain biking, rock climbing, weight training, water skiing, surfing and paddle boarding work to compliment her therapeutic perspective in a holistic fashion. |
